WA Liberals, Where To Now? Same place as always, in play & moving. I think there is a Conservative Renaissance coming. I think we are slowly seeing a return to common sense where (ala Ben Shapiro style) it will be facts not feelings. Hoping that along with that will be merit not quotas & Machiavellian will be out the door.
I'm pretty sure there's a few possible pathways and some will have differing views on what is more likely but within the circle of "what if ?" I think there's one thing for sure. Nature abhors a vacuum.
It may be possible I don't think the WA Liberal Party will become extinct but if that somehow happened, other parties would emerge & rise. And maybe over time some of them will get bigger, maybe some will merge. I think more likely the chances are the Liberals will rebuild, reboot & re-strategise and the pendulum will swing.
WALabor during the Burke years & the resulting WA Inc was thought to be on its knees and hearing its own death knell. It rebuilt.
Yes, they had a pathological history of factions and power brokers & at times it got pretty unseemly but they survived and now thrive.
Again, the pendulum will swing but before it does Liberals will reshoot.
The Liberal Report doesn't show there is currently a serious unchecked problem or two, it shows they recognise there has been an unchecked problem. It would be total disaster if they didn't have this review, this report.
They have seen there are problems, they're looking to fix them. Some argue in the case of the Brian Burke era it took a WA Inc Royal Commission to crack things open. At least the WA Liberals are aware & doing about their internal issues BEFORE it gets to a WA Inc Mk. 2 level. Labor got fixed but it came from the outside all along & the internal factional war lords had to finally fix things.
WA Liberals did actually grab the bull by the horns & look to fix it.
